One focused weekend plan: rural base camp, tank warfare on Saturday, a proper historic inn for the feast, then a battlefield march on Sunday.
Mission summary
Sophie’s Barn, Great Easton — a detached 4-bedroom barn conversion in open countryside, sleeping up to 10 with parking and enough separation for a loud weekend without city-centre hassle.
This is the strongest single weekend concept because it delivers the full brief in one area: a proper rural stay, a standout tank activity on Saturday, a historic-feeling dinner spot, and a Sunday dose of English battle history before heading home.
Orders of the day
Late afternoon / evening: drive up, check into Sophie’s Barn, sort rooms, stock supplies, and settle in for a low-key first night.
Aim: easy arrival, no venue hopping, everyone in one place.
Late morning to afternoon: head to Armourgeddon at Husbands Bosworth for the signature activity — real FV432 tank action with paintball cannon combat.
Evening feast: regroup and dress up slightly for dinner at The Three Swans in Market Harborough, a historic coaching inn with proper old-world character.
Late morning: head to Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre for exhibition time, a heritage stroll, and a lighter second activity with strong medieval / military atmosphere.
Afternoon: coffee, regroup, then drive home.
